About Women for Women International:
Founded in 1993, Women for Women International helps women in war-torn regions transform their lives by providing financial and emotional support, rights awareness and leadership education and job skills training. Through our program, women become confident, independent and productive as they embrace the importance of their roles in rebuilding their families, their communities and, ultimately, their nations.
Mission:
Women for Women International provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies.
In the last 14 years Women for Women International has:
- Served more than 153,000 women
- Distributed more than $42 million in direct aid and microcredit loans
- Served more than 69,952 women, benefiting more than 377,740 family and community members
- Facilitated the exchange of more than 111,500 letters between sponsors and their sisters
